The DERVISH is a product of the continuing tensions of the Spinward Marches. Originally laid down by LSP (at Glisten), the need for warships caused LSP to subcontract 23 Suleimans out to Bilstein Yards. These Scouts are more luxurious and plush than their counterparts, they even incorporate a lift, a ramp for embarkation and a small sickbay on the main deck. Because of the non-standard fittings the IISS quickly put them on detached duty. They are sometimes referred to as leisure scouts and could very well be considered as a yacht.
