Technically the ship IS a Suleiman Class. It was laid down during the Fourth Frontier War but the hostilities meant that work was suspended until after the Armistice. With the budget switched from the IISS to the IN, to help in post-war rebuilding, there were no funds to complete construction. In an unorthodox move, the yard supervisor authorised the retrofitting of drives from a damaged Serpent class Scout and the computer from a surplus Xboat (with a commensurate reduction in cargo space). After years of service, the ship is scheduled to be transferred to the detached duty reserve.
